Island Catholic News

Marnie Butler (1950 – 2023) was the only other editor of a paper started in 1986 by Patrick Jamieson. He reports (see Winter 2023/24 issue) that “she served as editor for twelve years of Island Catholic News between 1993 and 2005.”

So, Marnie knew that Christians had a history of being anti-Jewish. And Marnie knew that 1 John 4:20 says “For how can he who does not love his brother, whom he sees, love God, whom he does not see?”

And Marnie knew that actions speak louder than words. And so, Marnie became a member of Congregation Emanu-El Synagogue.
Patrick ends with: (Do not camouflage anti-Jewishness by calling it anti-Semitism.)

Ps. Protestants do not have a Purgatory because that would be too close to the scandal of the selling of indulgences. The Right Wing likes the perks of power and glory (see the Christian reaction to the innovations of Roman Emperor Constantine and the Christian practice of Residential Scoohls in Canada and the ownership of Black slave in the U.S.A.) Their motto: Greed is Good. But in John 8:20 and Luke 9:58 we have an “ideal”no place to Lay”…)
