Thank you for copying me on your letter to Prime Minister Mark Carney.
I absolutely agree. Exporting live horses for slaughter is inhumane and should be banned. The Liberals should be held accountable for their 2021 election promise.
I completely support the efforts of animal rights groups such as Animal Justice to ban this horrific practice This is an issue of basic compassion and humanity.
I worked in support of legislation to make this barbaric practice illegal. Bill C-355 was already in Second Reading at the Senate by December 2024. Unfortunately, due to the election call, this Bill is no more. We must work to have this Bill reintroduced and passed into law.
