his god you extoll, does he have visa,
exclusive rights on the mona lisa,
parties waiting for him in Rome,
his son jesus covered all in chrome…?
Criticism comes and goes,
but this godperson is always on his toes,
he seems to weather all in spite
of man’s assessment of his might.
I never see him sob or grovel
or strive to discover another level,
or just scream skyward in true hate
of the putrid lies we ruminate
He saw what he created and wet his pants
over circumstances in England/France
the burning wholesale of Joan of Ark,
that statue of Lennon in Central Park..
he’s harassed to bits about the afterlife
and stabs away with plain virtue’s knife
demanding all the sins be tallied,
at the Rave the Christians rallied,
the poor man’s imposture never changes,
while the hand of God just rearranges…
The playing field of Saigon and Sodom,
the soaring career of Hilary Roddam,
the flashes of freedom in the night,
while he remains aloof out of sight…
pulling strings and doing favours
for the men who but their saviours
So does he sanction deals on Douglas Street
from some far off vantage and papal seat,
with which the coffee company can’t compete,
some fifth world battalion,
some new world beat…..?
