Jerry Archibald, ICN Columnist, Rest in Peace
Volume 39 Issue 1,2,&3 | Posted: April 5, 2024
Our loving Jerry passed away on February 18, 2024, surrounded by those he loved and those who loved him. Jerry was known for his kindness, generosity, commitment, spirituality, loyalty, and his one-of-a kind sense of humor. Always greeting you with a twinkle in his eye and a firm handshake, Jerry listened without judgement and with sincerity. He lived by the motto “treat others as you want to be treated”.
Jerry lived a life of service to others, both professionally and personally. He was always proud of his contributions at AGT, Preventive Social Services, Persons with Developmental Disabilities, Northern Alberta Development Council, Grey Nuns, and his research consultancy.
Jerry is survived by his sweetheart wife of 56 years, Joanne; his children: Sean (Christine), Carolynn (Glenn), Joey (Andres), and Mandy (Brad); grandchildren: Nadina, Josh, Nadia, Isabelle, Caroline, Owen, Zoe, Charlie, Helena, Dani, Sofia, Sam, Maya, Ada, and Annika; brothers, Bill (Rebecca), Brian (Dianne), Pat (Barb), and their families.
Jerry will be fondly remembered for his love of travel, golf, fishing, coffee with his buddies, family time, and his joie de vivre.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Jerry, we hope you will take a friend out for coffee.
A Funeral was held at Connelly-McKinley Downtown Funeral Home (10011-114 Street NW, Edmonton, AB) on February 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. with a livestream available for those who could not attend in person.
