The Art of Susannah Paranich

As the most recent of my completed Circle Series paintings, I enjoyed working on this abstract acrylic mixed media painting on canvas, being one of 20 artists participating in the 3rd VANCOUVER ART ATTACK-PAINT YOUR ART OUT event at the Waterfall Building, Vancouver, BC on Sept. 19, 2015. Paintings were completed in the allotted 4-hour time period, each was auctioned off to the highest bidder, with partial proceeds from the auction going to good causes. This textured abstraction of spirals features five different types of acrylic medium texture products. With the predominant colour being cadmium red, some pink, iridescent silver, bronze and mostly golds swirling around it mingling in spirals, it has the spiritual aspect I was hoping to convey—when I was planning an abstract thinking of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Trinity) as I first started dreaming up this idea of what to paint for that special art event.

I was happy to participate in such a vibrant community art event for good causes (Coast Mental Health and the Emily Carr University of Art and Design) and delighted that my painting, CIRCLE SERIES—#7 TRINITY, went home that night with a happy, satisfied new owner.
