The Editor:
So sorry for losing Marnie in day-to-day life. Also, for such a belated response in expressing my deepest condolence to you. Gee, I think it’s more than six months now. I know you and Marnie had the deepest of friendships and are true kindred spirits.
And, as you expressed in your note in November (in ICN inferred), you feel her death keenly … all her camaraderie and companionship. My hope is that time will gently wean away (no, bad choice of words) … reduce bit by bit this loss you feel. Your faith, love and hope is strong!
The Brandt Estate is just about finalized now. A long haul (though I have little personal involvement since resigning.) Two weeks ago the hermitage lease arrangement was signed with CVRD – now the land transfer to CVRD will occur and within a year the Brandt Hermitage Regional Park will open.
I found this statue in the garbage pile at the Port Alice recycling depot and brought it home to rest in our garden… appropos…thinking of Marnie.
