SISTER GERARDA DE ROO OSU — Very peacefully, on July 30, 2018 at Taché Centre, St. Boniface, Manitoba at the age of 95, Sister Gerarda met her loving Lord. Present at her bedside was her sister Alma and her religious Ursuline Sisters. Left to honour her memory are Bishop Remi De Roo, and the families of Clara Major, Alma and Marcel Verdonck, Madeleine Martinez, Margaret De Roo, Frank Fisher and the Ursuline Sisters of Tildonck. Sister Gerarda was predeceased by her siblings, Michael, Cyril and Marguerite. During her long illness Gerarda continually expressed her gratitude to her devoted care givers; in return the care givers loved her very much. Gerarda was a warm loving person and she will be remembered for her quiet unassuming and caring manner. The Ursuline Sisters wish to remember Gerarda with loving gratitude for her total commitment to God in community, and in the service of God’s people during her teaching years in Manitoba.

The Funeral Mass took place on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at 151 Despins Street, St. Boniface, MB. Bishop Remi De Roo presided at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at a later date in the St. Gerard Parish Cemetery, Bruxelles, MB.
