Rose Marie Hague Passes

HAGUE, Rose Marie (nee Blum) – 1939-2018 Rose Marie was born March 27, 1939 Lymburn, AB, 3rd child to Leo & Emilia Blum. She passed away Jan 26, 2018 at Qualicum Beach, BC. She grew up on the farm in Lymburn,AB, attended Lambert school (Lymburn) then went to St Joes in Grande Prairie to complete her high school. After graduating she attended the UofA and returned to teach at St Joes in Grande Prairie. She later moved on teaching in Ottawa, ON and Ft Sask, AB. She continued her education at UofA and obtained her Dr degree in Psychology and continued her teaching career at the UofA. Rose Marie and husband Bill raised their children Carolyn and Dan in Edmonton but also spent time with the family in England, Europe and USA. In 2002 Rose Marie and Bill retired to Qualicum Beach, BC where they had vacationed. Later Carolyn, Dave and granddaughter Amanda relocated to the Island. Rose Marie was able to enjoy her granddaughter.

Rose Marie was able to enjoy her granddaughter. She remained active with her church (CWL), Habitat For Humanity and other charities. Always with compassion and generosity for those less fortunate, while caring for her husband. She was proud of these accomplishments and the recognition and citations she received. It wasn’t all work as she would remind us, she played fastball with a ladies team in Grande Prairie while teaching. Rose Marie is survived by her son Dan (Roz) and their 2 boys Everest and Logan, of Edmonton, who affectionately called her ocean gramma, her son-in-law Dave Parayko and daughter Amanda, of Qualicum Beach. She was predeceased by her husband Bill and her daughter Carolyn. She is also survived by her Sister Louise Blum of Montreal, brothers Joseph (Betty) of Edmonton, Jacob (Phyllis) of Lymburn, and Tony (Ellen) of Hythe. A Funeral Mass was held at the Catholic Church of the Ascension in Parksville-Qualicum on Feb 2. A celebration of life is planned on April 7, 2018, noon to 3PM, at Summerside Beach Hall 1720-88St. SW, Edmonton, AB
