Nellie Cashman “The Miner’s Angel”

    Centennial stone for Nellie Cashman, Times Colonist, October 19, 2017. Lt. Gov. Judith Guichon attended an unveiling at Nellie Cashman’s grave at Ross Bay Cemetery at Fairfield, Victoria. Cashman was known across Western Canada as a nurse, restauranteur, business woman, philanthropist and gold prospector. She died in 1925 in the Sisters of St. Ann St. Joseph Hospital that she had helped to build 51 years earlier. The event was sponsored by the Old Cemetery Society of Greater Victoria.
