Claddagh Ring

Today I wear a Claddagh ring,
A ring of love, they say.
Two hands encircling heart and crown,
worn in a special way.
It takes an Irish heart to know
the statement it is making.
A heart that has been given away
or open for the taking.
Yesterday it told Happiness.
Today it whispers Sorrow.
I wear my Claddagh ring and pray
God’s blessing on tomorrow.
