In Italy the Christmas Bells
ring ‘Buon Natale! Buon Natale!’
Echoing across the hills
and down the valley, down the valley.
‘Come to the Chiasa, kneel and pray.
Gesu Bambino is born today!
Come to the café in the square
for Cappuccino, Caffe Corretto.
Half the town is gathered there
joining in the wild libretto
‘Buon Natale! Buon Natale!’
Christmas Bells ring around the world
their joyous message to impart,
but the Christmas Bells of Italy
echo always in my heart.
‘Buon Natale! Buon Natale!’
