Spring comes in a’dancing
A tender maid and sky.
She sings of earth’s awakening
from winter’s lullabye.
Summer is a wanton lass,
Her mouth a blown rose.
She sings her song of summer love
reluctantly she goes.
Autumn comes with open arms
gathering harvest’s gold.
“Make haste”, she sings, “come dance with me,
the year is growing old.”
Winter lays the earth to rest,
blanketed in snow.
“For all the year that’s gone,” she sings,
“Benedicamus Domino…”
