Superabundantly Alive: Thomas Merton’s Dance with the Feminine

     A book launch and reading was held at the Canadian Memorial Centre for Peace in Vancouver, for Susan McCaslin’s new book, Superabundantly Alive: Thomas Merton’s Dance with the Feminine. The lively volume of creative nonfiction includes dialogue, imaginary letters, graphic design poems, memoir and reflective essays. 
     Superabundantly Alive: Thomas Merton’s Dance with the Feminine, co-written by Susan McCaslin and J.S. Porter explores the integral relation of contemplation and action as well as the figure of Sophia or Holy Wisdom in Merton’s life and art. 
Susan McCaslin is an established Canadian poet of 15 volumes of poetry. She is also a Thomas Merton scholar. 
J.S. Porter has been reading, thinking about, speaking about, and writing about Thomas Merton for 40 years.
