In the serenity of the night, Gordon, a kind, thoughtful and caring man, husband, father and grandfather was welcomed into the arms of his Lord on January 16, 2017. Gordon, a devoted husband, put his wife Marilyn, children Nichole (Wayne Sparanese), Marc (Sandy) and his beloved grandchildren: Jaylon, Madison, Tiana and Matea above all else. He loved sharing his knowledge, experience and took tremendous pride in his family. He loved giving and took great pleasure in surprising each of us, with tokens of his love. He loved the spontaneity of giving. He got great pleasure in “paying it forward” to perfect strangers! Gordon was born in Port Arthur (Thunder Bay) Ontario, on July 20, 1942 the third child of Paul and Stella Grenier (nee Gagnon) and brother to Colette Dawson, Lynda Comerford, and the late Ross Grenier. In the summer of 1957, his family moved to Victoria, BC. Gordon attended St.

Louis College and shortly after graduation joined the RCMP (1963), where he served for 32 years retiring in 1995. In 1967, while posted to Regina, Gordon graduated with Distinction from the University of Regina, Saskatchewan, Campion College, with a degree in Psychology. As a long time dialysis patient with multiple health issues, Gordon always felt blessed to be cared for by outstanding Drs. John Antonsen, Heather Clark, Deb Trerice and Amerigo Sparanese, as well as nurses Paula, Connie, Diane, Maureen, Val, Carmen, Andrea and so many more. Despite Gordon's many health challenges over the years, he always maintained a positive attitude. He felt blessed to be able to give back to his dialysis community by being involved in a number of volunteer positions, particularly as part of the Renal Patient Advisory Board. A celebration of Gordon's life was held on February 9, 2017 at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Victoria, followed by a tea service in the church hall.
