It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy at the age of 90 years. She is predeceased by her husband, Victor; her parents; her sister, Florence Low and her grandson, Curtis Wahl. She is survived by her daughter Shawny (Anthony); granddaughter Serena; her brother John “Jack” and wife Gwen Smith; her many nieces and nephews and her many dear friends that she has known throughout the years. Born to John and Dorothy Smith in Vancouver, BC. Dorothy graduated from Mount View High School at the early age of 15. She began her illustrious working career at the age of 16 at the Saanich Municipal Hall. She then went on to work as a secretary to the Chief of Police and Mayor of Victoria, many BC Government Officials and Ministers including former Premier Bill Vander Zalm. She also was secretary to the Lieutenant Governors of BC (George Pearkes and John Nicholson). Thank you to the Drs. Cheek and Otto and the staff at the Royal Jubilee Hospital. A Funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on October 9, 2015.
