I want to let you know of a wonderful Federation of Canadian Artists juried group art exhibition called "Summer Gallery 2015" being held from June 23 to July 19 at Federation Gallery on Granville Island at 1241 Cartwright Street, Vancouver, BC. As an active member of the FCA, I'm delighted to be one of 30 artists displaying their paintings in this exciting summer show. I am also booked for two separate mini-residency days (art demos) on July 10 and July 24 at Federation Gallery.
My paintings reflect coastal influences of nature, waters, landscape, mountains, skies; sometimes invoking a sense of mystery, spirituality – intuitive painting, drawing on the subconscious and may also include abstractions of cosmic or intergalactic space. Blues, yellows, reds, white, silver and gold all find their way into my paintings, many showing texture, vibrancy and depth, depending on the image.

The Federation of Canadian Artists was founded in 1941 by Lawren Harris of the Group of Seven and other major artists. You can find two long, very informative articles on the history of the FCA that were written by Ellen Poole, FCA historian and archivist – view online at FCA site: http://artists.ca/about/history.
Just recently, I was proud and thrilled to be one of 60 artists/60 paintings in an important cooperative juried exhibition – National Crossing Boundaries Art Exhibition 2015 – Splendor of Canada, between the Federation of Canadian Artists and the International Arts Gallery which ran separately in the two galleries from May 16 to June 7, with a grand opening ceremony involving numerous government officials and dignitaries. The image of my 24" x 36" acrylic on canvas painting, West Coast Serenity is included in that exhibition's catalogue available at the gallery. As well, that painting is currently featured on the full back cover of the Summer 2015 print edition of Island Catholic News.
Please enjoy the Summer Gallery exhibition, which can also be viewed on the FCA online site by going to:  https://artists.ca
