John F. Haught in an article states, “If hope is to have wings and life to have zest, nothing less is needed than a theological vision that opens up an new future for the world.” This means that we cannot anymore look to the past or want to remain in the eternal present but we need to ask ourselves,"what are we being called to?"
Yahweh in the Old testament states that he will go before his people. So where is God before us? What is she beckoning us to and to become? We still in our liturgies, prayers, etc. have not integrated the new discoveries of science, cosmology and the implications of evolution.
Often our spirituality is disconnected from the real world. As someone has stated, if our spirituality is not helping us deal with the real world it in all likelihood will become superstition.

Evolution implies there is a movement forward. The Divine is in the evolutionary process. What does each of us need to do to be in touch and help this process along? Staying stuck is not a life-giving option.
